The Blue Ash HONOR FLIGHT 5K will take place on September 19th. The Race will begin and end at the Wingate INN on Glendale Milford Rd -- directly across from Blue Ash Airport. The Race will begin in front of the Wingate and then after the race -- the awards ceremony and pancake breakfast buffet will be held in the back of the hotel. THE 5k RACE IS SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 19-- The new beneficiary of the race is HONOR FLIGHT TRI- STATE. CLICK HERE to download the PDF flier with the registration. Look for details of Honor Flight on their website -- www.honorflighttristate.org Not a runner .... there are plenty of opportunities to support Honor Flight See the 5K section for details Many of you have asked why the show was cancelled... More about the airshow cancellation... Cheryl Popp, the show producer for 12 years said, " We have been caught in the perfect storm....literally. We had a hurricane on Airshow weekend last September ,that greatly reduced our paid attendance, necessary ramp space to accomodate the event is not available this year, some of the airport property has been sold and the reconfiguration construction schedule is unknown and the failing economy has greatly reduced our sponsor possiblities." The airshow may continue after this hiatus, but the reconfiguration of the airport property may ultimately decide if we can continue. The " City of Blue and the City of Cincinnati ( who actually owns the airport ) have been very supportive of the airshow since 1997."We are a small, quality show closed down with money in the bank." said Tom Popp. We have been praised by the FAA on our organization and there is a team of committee members and volunteers waiting to announce we are back in business. "We hope to continue our mission of educating the public about aviation, producting a family community event and donating to charity ", said Popp. Only time will tell.... We would like to thank our many supporters -- our patrons, who have enjoyed the show for years, our vendors -- who have supported us, the great Sponsors who have helped us year after year,our hundreds of pilots and volunteers and we are very disppointed we can not serve our community this year. We have produced a small, barnstorming, award winning, quality show for 12 years, even though it has been difficult with the size of our airport. Special thanks to the City of Blue Ash for their support with Service, Fire and Police for 12 years. The City of Cincinnati and the airport Manager for his constant efforts to help the airshow. They have been vital to our success. The committee would especially like to thank you for your patronage..... THANK YOU AND WE HOPE YOU CAN ENJOY AN AIRSHOW THIS SEASON !
